ProctorFree, an educational technology startup located in Charlotte, NC, has been selected to participate as a finalist in the Charlotte Venture Challenge competition. The Charlotte Venture Challenge is a startup competition specifically for high-growth tech startups located in the Southeast region of the United States. Over 100 companies apply each year to compete in the Challenge as well as receive mentoring for successful entrepreneurs and to learn more about the startup world.

“We are really honored to be selected as a finalist for the Charlotte Venture Challenge,” stated Mike Murphy, Co-Founder of ProctorFree. “We continue to see the benefits of connecting with such a great entrepreneurial program after winning the NC IDEA competition in June 2013 and know that we’ll be received the same way in the Charlotte Venture Challenge community.”

This will be the second competition ProctorFree has participated in in North Carolina. Last Spring, ProctorFree was 1 of 159 applicants to compete and win a $40,000 NC IDEA grant designed to support and retain North Carolina based high-growth startups.

ProctorFree will compete against 39 other startup companies for the chance to win up to $20,000 in award money. The final competition is May 1st, 2014 and will include several pitch sessions, educational panels, and a finalist exhibition where all 40 finalists will display their products and network with fellow entrepreneurs and mentors.
